Dr. Askren is a 2013 graduate of Kansas State University.. He has been practicing in the Kansas City area since he graduated, and is passionate about preventative medicine. Dr. Askren believes that education is crucial for quality pet ownership, and prides himself on taking time with each client to answer questions or address concerns. He knows that pets are a part of the family, and really enjoys being a part in taking great care of them. Dr. Askren stays up to date on the latest veterinary medical information by attending conferences and workshops to expand his knowledge base on current and emerging treatments. He is very excited to bring his skills to the Southside team! Dr. Askren is out of the office on Mondays.

In his free time, Dr. Askren enjoys playing golf, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife, Melissa, live in Overland Park.
